Saferspaceguidelines

LET’S AVOID MAKING ASSUMPTIONS

● Respect others in all forms of being. Always ask first. Our boundaries and comfort zones vary upon each individual.

CONSENT IS KEY

● Be considerate when referring to someone else, or pursuing something further. Make sure you have received clear verbal consent (‘Yes’). Consent can always be withdrawn after.

REMEMBER TO GIVE SPACE

● Do not touch anyone without permission. Each of us reserve the right to bodily autonomy. Stay mindful of others’ identities and self-expression in comments or conversation.

ACCOUNTABILITY IS A SHARED RESPONSIBILITY

● If someone indicates that your behaviour makes them uncomfortable, apologize and adapt your behaviour. Do this in every case, at all times.

Learning sometimes means unlearning and breaking out of old patterns.

LET’S SUPPORT ONE ANOTHER

● Intervene in harassment if you witness it, and ask the affected individual whether they need help or support during / after the incident. Safer spaces are always a collective effort, so let’s look after one another with assistance and care.

AWARENESS TEAM

● Our Awareness team is available to you for the entire duration of the festival. You can recognize them from bright colored DIY vests with a SOLSTICE-logo written on the backside. Please reach out to us with any concern.

CALMING TENT

● You can also rest and recharge at the Calming tent located near the lower downhill exit (Maston Aitio side). It is a less sensory-irritating space for winding down from distractions and possible overwhelm. Please respect its purpose and use it accordingly.
